FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to a silver-based material for the manufacture of electrical contacts obtained using powder metallurgy methods and can be used in homogeneous pairs of low-voltage switching equipment. Extension of the service life of electrical contacts by increasing the switching wear resistance and the number of on-off cycles before the “beginning of destruction” of the material, as well as reducing the voltage drop at the contact junction is the technical result of the invention, which is achieved by the fact that the material for electrical contacts based on silver is obtained from finely dispersed fractions of nickel (1-5 microns) and silver (5-10 microns), which are mixed in two stages, and at the first stage nickel, 10%, and silver, 80% in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol are mixed for 6 hours and then sintered in hydrogen at a temperature of 800°C, after which the resulting granulate is mixed with an additional amount of silver, 10%.
EFFECT: contacts made of the obtained material have a switching wear of 4.5×10-7 g/cycle, a contact voltage drop (14-19) mV and the number of on-off cycles before the “beginning of destruction” is 700,000.
