SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring technology and can be used for high-precision determination of the physical properties (density, concentration of mixtures, moisture content, etc.) of various dielectric liquids located in containers (process tanks, measuring cells, etc.). In the proposed method, electromagnetic waves are excited in each of two coaxial waveguides filled, respectively, with a controlled liquid and a reference liquid, located coaxially and formed by a combination of two coaxial metal cylinders and a central conductor coaxial with them, while the inner surface of the inner cylinder serves as the outer conductor of one of the coaxial waveguides, and its outer surface serves as the inner conductor of another coaxial waveguide, in each of the two coaxial waveguides, electromagnetic waves of type H11 of a fixed frequency are excited at one of its ends, which is selected below the critical frequency of waves of type H11 of the corresponding coaxial waveguide, the amplitude of the electric field strength is measured at the same or its other end, and the measured physical property of the dielectric liquid is judged by the ratio of the measured amplitudes in the two coaxial waveguides.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measuring the physical properties of a dielectric liquid.
