FIELD: biotechnology; agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for increasing the efficiency of using feed for milk production by dairy animals; the method includes feeding the animal in an amount effective to increase the efficiency of using feed for dairy animals, animal feed containing plant material from transgenic maize, where plant material from transgenic maize contains a polynucleotide encoding a recombinant α-amylase, where recombinant α-amylase has at least about 80% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1.
EFFECT: improving the efficiency of feed use.
