FIELD: agriculture; biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method of increasing the efficiency of using fodders for increasing the body weight of a growing beef breed calf, wherein the method involves feeding the animal in an amount effective to increase the efficiency of using the fodders by the beef breed calf, an animal fodder containing plant material from transgenic maize, where plant material from transgenic maize contains polynucleotide coding recombinant α-amylase, which is characterized by at least 80% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence with SEQ ID NO: 1.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase efficiency of fodder use.
