SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the field of radar, in particular to the protection of surveillance radar stations from passive interference created by clusters of reflectors. In the claimed method, the marks adjacent in range, elevation, azimuth are combined into a spatial package of marks, in which the standard deviation (SD) of the mark range values relative to their mean value is determined, the decision to blank passive interference is taken within the boundaries of the spatial packet of marks when the above-mentioned SD is exceeded the threshold value of the SD, defined as the maximum admissible SD of the range values for targets.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the boundaries of the blanking area of passive interference created by clusters of reflectors, and due to this, an increase in the reliability of the issued radar information.
