SUBSTANCE: object of the invention is a device and a method for hydroconversion or hydrotreatment of hydrocarbon raw materials using, in particular, at least one spiral heat exchanger (S-1), while the mentioned spiral heat exchanger is a single-pass heat exchanger formed by a vertical chamber, in which one or several bundles of pipes are wound spirally around a central core in the form of several layers arranged one above the other, and it is made with the possibility of: heating and directly guiding a mixture of hydrocarbon raw materials - hydrogen flow into a reaction section of hydrotreatment or hydroconversion (R-1); and cooling the reaction effluent of the reaction section of hydrotreatment or hydroconversion (R-1). The object of the present invention is also the use of the spiral heat exchanger (S1) as part of a method for the hydrotreatment or hydroconversion of hydrocarbon raw materials.
