FIELD: medical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical technology and can be used for the treatment of snoring, syndrome of increased resistance of the upper respiratory tract, obstructive sleep apnea and hypopnea. An intraoral device for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea includes maxillary and mandibular mouth guards made of plastic material. On the mandibular mouthguard on both sides in the area of the corresponding first molars from the vestibular side in the direction of the maxillary mouthguard, two abutment protrusions are made. On the maxillary mouthguard, movable pushers are fixed on the sides with the possibility of adjustable translational movement towards the protrusions of the mandibular mouthguard. The distal sides of the projections and the medial sides of the pushers touch each other in a closed position. The medial sides of the pushers and the distal sides of the protrusions are made in the form of conjugate arcs of different curvature, the surfaces of which, when the caps are closed, are equidistant to each other and are made according to an individual shape along the trajectory of movement of the lower jaw of each individual person, corresponding to the shape of the line reflecting the path of movement of the interincisal point of the lower jaw in the sagittal plane from the maximum forward extension of the lower jaw to the position of the maximum open mouth. The protrusions on the mandibular mouthguard in a vertical section are made with an offset from the lateral surfaces of the maxillary mouthpiece at a distance of 0.5 to 2 mm.
EFFECT: creation of a mouthguard with an individual physiological shape of the contacting surfaces of the pusher on the maxillary mouthguard and a projection on the mandibular mouthguard, which ensures uniform distribution of pressure on the contacting surfaces between the distal sides of the projections on the mandibular mouthguard and the medial sides of the pushers on the maxillary mouthpiece.
