METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING ADENOMYOSIS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B8/08

Abstract RU 2764106 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely, to gynecology, and can be used in diagnostics of adenomyosis. For this purpose, during an examination in the 2D mode, the homogeneity and echogenicity of the myometrium are estimated and the ratio of the thickness of the anterior and posterior uterine walls is calculated. Additionally, in the 3D mode, the average value of the transition zone is estimated based on 3 points: along the anterior wall, posterior wall, and at the uterine fundus. The degree of vascularisation and the uniformity of distribution of myometrial vessels are estimated applying the POWER DOPPLER 3D GLASS BODY technique. Then compression elastography is performed in order to estimate the elasticity of the uterine muscle tissue. If the sum of the scores of all indicators is 0 to 2 points, the absence of adenomyosis, 3 to 4 points - initial adenomyosis, 5 to 12 points - pronounced adenomyosis is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method ensures accurate diagnostics of the disease at lower material costs, without using invasive methods, due to the assessment of the myometrium based on certain criteria, providing a possibility of objectively and accurately assessing the presence and severity of adenomyosis, diagnosing the initial forms of development of adenomyosis in order to prescribe medication therapy in a timely manner, preventing the progression of the process and the occurrence of clinical manifestations of the disease.
