FIELD: casting.
SUBSTANCE: casting apparatus (10) for continuous or semi-continuous casting of a cast product comprises a tank (15) with liquid metal (20), a mould (25) for direct-cooling casting with a cavity (30) for retaining and solidifying liquid metal (20), a pump (60) for creating a force applied to the liquid metal, counteracting gravity, causing said metal to flow from the tank (15) into the cavity (30), and a flow diverter (90). The pump (60), which is a direct current electromagnetic pump, is installed on the flow channel (55) between the tank (15) and the cavity (30) to adjust the flow of liquid metal (20) from the tank (15) into the cavity (30). The flow diverter (90) directing the liquid metal in a preset direction into the cavity (30) of the mould, is installed on the flow channel (55) downstream from the pump (60) in the flow.
EFFECT: turbulence of the flow of liquid metal is reduced, allowing for an improvement in the surface quality of the cast product.
