FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to orthodontics, and can be used to determine the severity of root resorption. The method includes performing cone-beam computed tomography of the dentition before and after orthodontic treatment, assessing the length of the roots of the teeth before and after orthodontic treatment. The difference in the length of the roots before and after treatment is expressed as a percentage, interpreted as follows: from 0 to 10% - 0 degree; from 10 to 30% - 1 degree; from 30 to 5 0% - 2nd degree; from 50 to 70% - 3 degree; from 70% and more - 4 degree of root resorption.
EFFECT: method improves the accuracy of determining the severity of root resorption and makes it possible to give an objective assessment of this symptom of dento-maxillofacial anomalies, quantitatively interpreting its dynamics through methods for quantitatively assessing the degree of resorption of both a single tooth and the chewing apparatus as a whole.
