FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: clinical and radiological examinations of the patient's maxilla reveal a symptom complex of forming retention of permanent canines. The symptom complex is assessed quantitatively by the scoring system for each side of the maxilla separately. Quantitative evaluation of the result of the X-ray examination is summarized with an appropriate quantitative assessment of clinical examination. If the score is 2-2.5 points, then the presence of forming retention of permanent maxillary canine teeth with a slight degree of severity is diagnosed. If the score is more than 2.5 points, but not more than 5.5 points, then the presence of forming retention of permanent maxillary canine teeth with an average degree of severity is diagnosed. If the score is more than 5.5 points, then the presence of forming retention of permanent maxillary canine teeth with a severe degree of severity is diagnosed. The following is revealed during clinical examination: absence of temporary canines or loss of the support zone site; rudiments of the permanent canines are palpated with a shift to the side; rudiments of the permanent canines are not palpable; presence of microdentism or adentia of lateral incisors; presence of upper macrodentism. During X-ray examination, the presence of violated resorption of temporal canines is revealed; the position of rudiments of the permanent canines: the canine rudiment is deviated from the eruption axis, does not reach the middle axis of adjacent teeth, the canine rudiment is deviated from the eruption axis, intersects the middle axis of adjacent teeth; the presence of a supercomplete tooth; presence of odontoma; presence of a cyst; for cone-ray computed tomography, the presence of palatal displacement of the permanent canine rudiment is further revealed.
EFFECT: increased informative nature of the method, expanded functionality, due to the possibility to use the diagnostic results for formulation of a detailed diagnosis and treatment prescription.
