FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optics and pertains to a method for tracking the position of the eyes of the user. The method comprises stages of forming structured illumination on the surface of the eye in the area of the cornea by means of a source of collimated optical emission, the emission reflected from the surface of the eye is collected and multiplied by means of a waveguide and transmitted by means of a waveguide to a detector. An image is formed by means of the detector, whereon the elements of the structured illumination that were reflected from the cornea of the eye and reached the entrance pupil of the detector through the waveguide are displayed. The image formed by the detector is analysed, and the position of the eye of the useris calculated by means of a controller.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability and reduction in the size of the sensor while ensuring safety and absence of interference in the vision of the user.
