FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method for planning the refilling of the secondary tank of an outpatient infusion system from the primary tank of the outpatient infusion system with a larger volume, in which a liquid drug is stored, is disclosed. The outpatient infusion system also contains a hydraulic distributor for alternately connecting the secondary tank to the primary tank in a refilling state and to an infusion site in a feeding state. The method includes periodic and automatic execution of a program of refilling volume estimation, which includes the current-time determination of the estimated refilling volume of the secondary tank at the future estimated time occurring after an estimated time interval after the current time, wherein an estimated refilling level is determined by subtracting an estimated infusion volume from the refilling volume of the secondary tank at the current time, which is an estimate of the amount of the drug, calculated infused for the estimated time interval, and the determination of the need for refilling of the secondary tank at the current time, performed depending on the estimated refilling volume, wherein the need for refilling of the secondary tank is established, if the estimated refilling volume is lower than a threshold refilling volume. The determination of the estimated refilling volume is at least partially based on the estimated infusion volume of a bolus administered on request in a time interval between the current time and the estimated time and/or on the history of the actual infusion in the past. A refilling planning node, a control unit of an outpatient infusion unit, and a machine-readable data carrier are also disclosed.
EFFECT: providing control and planning of refilling of the secondary tank.
