FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to oncology and thoracic surgery. Thoracotomy, anatomical lung resection with systemic ipsilateral lymphodissection are performed. Affected part of the lung is removed. Bronchus is closed by mechanical hardware or manual suture. After the primary suturing, the bronchial stump is additionally reinforced with a collagen plate “Collost” fixed by applying U-shaped sutures with non-traumatic Vicryl 3-0 suture.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to perform additional strengthening of bronchial stump after anatomical resections of lung; to delimit the bronchial stump from the pleural cavity after pneumonectomy; improve the bronchial healing process; preventing pyoinflammatory phenomena in the pleural cavity in case of bronchial stump microleak.
