FIELD: communication.

SUBSTANCE: method for allocating radio resources to user equipment (hereinafter – UE) devices in communication systems is implemented, in which the radio resources assigned to one UE device are non-orthogonal to the radio resources assigned to another UE device. The signals of several UE devices can be received by the base station using the same radio resources. The base station determines the feasibility of assigning non-orthogonal radio resources to the first UE device, taking into account the time advance value measured for the random access message sent to the base station by the first UE device.

EFFECT: technical result is an effective shared use of non-orthogonal multiple access (hereinafter – NOMA) resources in the direction of the upstream channel and in the method for selecting the modulation and encoding scheme in the case of using NOMA technology without the need to change the algorithm of the UE device.
