SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental biology and medicine and can be used in experimental preclinical studies of new drugs and preparations. Method of Danio rerio model organism anaesthesia for preclinical studies includes: preliminarily in separate 1 litre tank an anaesthetic solution is prepared, consisting of aquarium water with the following characteristics: pH 6.8–6.85; temperature 24–26 °C; nitrates less than 200 mg/l; carbon dioxide 20 mg/l; water hardness 75–200 mg/l; nitrites are absent; dissolved oxygen is not less than 4 mg/l, 1 ml of 2 % lidocaine solution is added, after which the Danio rerio individual is transferred to the tank with a net, where for 5–6 minutes until loss of orientation reflex in fish and complete immobilisation.

EFFECT: invention provides the technical result, which consists in improving the quality of research by reducing the time for complete recovery of fish movement through the aquarium after immobilization, including in the upper one-third of the water column, and providing the possibility of creating a protocol of anaesthesia and immobilisation of the Danio rerio model organism using lidocaine during experimental manipulations in preclinical studies.
