FIELD: medicine; neurology; cardiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, in particular to neurology and cardiology, and it is intended for the differential diagnostics of subtypes of cryptogenic stroke (hereinafter – CS). A patient with CS is additionally subjected to an extended echocardiographic examination with an assessment of a function of the left atrium by the left atrium emptying fraction (hereinafter – LAEF), as well as determination of the concentration of N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide (hereinafter – NT-proBNP) fragment in serum on 4-7 day of the disease. At LAEF value of less than 51.8% and NT-proBNP concentration of more than 316 pg/ml, a cardioembolic subtype of CS is diagnosed; at LAEF value of more than 51.8% and NT-proBNP concentration of less than 316 pg/ml, a non-cardioembolic subtype of CS is diagnosed; at LAEF value of 51.8% and NT-proBNP concentration of less than 316 pg/ml, at LAEF value of less than 51.8% and NT-proBNP concentration of less than 316 pg/ml, or at LAEF value of more than 51.8% and NT-proBNP concentration of more than 316 pg/ml, a conclusion is made about the need for further examination.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the accuracy of differential diagnostics of subtypes of CS.
