FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is intended for measurement of calibre of first order retinal vessels by means of spectral optic coherent tomography (COCT). Spectral optic coherent tomography is performed with application of circular scan with diameter 3.4 mm. Scan is placed in such a way that its centre corresponds to the place of outlet of vessels from optic nerve disk. On obtained section calibre of examined vessel is performed by its shadow at the level of pigment epithelium of retina.

EFFECT: method is technically simple and available, ensures calibrometry of first order retinal vessels with accuracy to 1 mcm with obtaining reliable comparable results for determination of indications for treatment, estimation of dianamics and prediction of course of different diseases of retina and optic nerve.
