FIELD: computer equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to encapsulation of mosaic synchronized multimedia data, for example MPEG files on a server and provision of synchronized multimedia data from encapsulated mosaic synchronized multimedia in a client device. Disclosed is a method of reproducing video data based on a multimedia file corresponding to a basic format of multimedia files of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO BMFF), wherein multimedia file comprises multimedia data area and metadata area, according to ISO BMFF, where mosaic synchronized multimedia data comprises synchronized samples, and each synchronized sample comprises a plurality of spatial sub-samples. After selecting at least one spatial sub-sample from a plurality of spatial sub-samples of one of the synchronized samples, one tile track containing the selected spatial sub-sample and one corresponding spatial sub-sample of each of the other synchronized samples is generated for each selected spatial sub-sample. One composite track containing at least one extractor identifying at least one of created tracks of mosaic fragments is created. Each created path is independently encapsulated in, at least, one multimedia segments file.
