FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synchronized multimedia data encapsulation technique, for example, according to multimedia files basic format, specified by means of MPEG standard. Disclosed mosaic synchronized multimedia data contain synchronized samples, and each synchronized sample comprises plurality of spatial subsamples. After selecting of, at least, one spatial sub-sample from plurality of spatial subsamples of one of synchronized samples one path of mosaic fragments, containing selected spatial sub-sample and one corresponding spatial sub-sample of each of other synchronized samples, is created for each selected spatial sub-sample. One composite path, containing, at least, one extractor, identifying, at least, one of created mosaic fragments paths is created. Each created path is independently encapsulated in, at least, one multimedia segments file.
EFFECT: technical result is enabling data organization and description of paths for spatial mosaic fragments, which provides, regardless of which combination of paths is selected by client application, that syntax ISO BMFF analysis result always leads to allowable elementary video bits stream for video decoder.
