Method for determining concentration of an analyte in a physiological fluid using a mobile device having a chamber includes: prompting the user to one or more of: applying a drop of physiological fluid on at least one test field of the optical test strip, or confirmation of application of drop of physiological fluid on at least one test field of optical test strip; waiting for a predetermined minimum amount of waiting time; obtaining at least one image of at least one part of the test field, wherein the test field has a drop of physiological fluid applied thereon, using a camera; determination of analyte concentration in physiological fluid based on the obtained image.

EFFECT: possibility of using multipurpose mobile devices not intended for analytical measurements for determination of analyte concentration in physiological fluid.
