FIELD: measuring methods.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for calibrating a camera in order to determine the analyte in a sample. The method includes: a) providing a set of color coordinate systems; b) providing a set (122) of test samples; c) applying test samples (124) to a set (126) of test elements (128), each of which has at least one test field (130) containing an indicator reagent; d) obtaining images of colored test fields (130) by means of a camera (116); e) generating color coordinates for images of colored test fields (130), performed by means of color coordinate systems from a set of color coordinate systems, as a result of which a set of color coordinates is created for test samples (124) and for color coordinate systems; f) providing a set of coding functions; g) converting a set of color coordinates generated at step e) into a set of measured concentrations, performed by a set of coding functions; and h) comparing the set of measured concentrations with the known concentrations in the test samples (124) from the set (122) of the test samples and determining the most appropriate color coordinate system.

EFFECT: provided is an increase in the accuracy of determining the value of the analyte concentration using cameras in mobile devices, smartphones or tablet computers.
