FIELD: analytical procedures.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining the concentration of an analyte in a physiological fluid and a kit for determining the concentration of an analyte in a physiological fluid, the kit containing a mobile device having a camera and a processor, and an optical test strip with a test field. A method of determining the concentration of an analyte in a physiological fluid by using a mobile device having a camera includes a) capturing a series of calibration images of at least one region of interest of an object by using a camera, wherein the calibration images differ in their brightness; b) obtaining from each calibration image from the series obtained in step a), at least one basic calibration number characteristic of the tone mapping function of the mobile device; c) determining at least one probable tone mapping function of the mobile device, taking into account the main calibration numbers from the calibration images from the series obtained in step a); d) capturing at least one image for analysis of at least a portion of a test field of the optical test strip, wherein the test field has a physiological fluid applied thereto; and e) determining the concentration of the analyte in the physiological fluid from the image to analyze the test field, taking into account the probable tone mapping function of the mobile device.

EFFECT: ability to use multi-purpose mobile devices, not intended for analytical measurements, to determine the concentration of an analyte in physiological fluid.
