SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a device for driving assistance. Device comprises a sensor and a controller. Sensor is configured to detect the first vehicle entering the intersection on the first route. Considered vehicle moves along the second route different from the first one. Controller is configured to predict: whether the first vehicle will stop at the intersection and the stop position of the first vehicle; when the first vehicle stop is predicted at the intersection, calculating the minimum distance of the first gap between the body of the first vehicle and the surrounding object around the first vehicle or between the body of the first vehicle and the edge of the road of the traffic lane of the first vehicle; predicting, in accordance with the calculated minimum distance, whether the second vehicle, which is the next vehicle after the first vehicle, can slide through the first gap behind the first vehicle.
EFFECT: improved safety of driving an autonomous vehicle at an intersection.
