SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vehicle differentials. In the method of controlling the limited-slip differential of the vehicle, the rotation speed of the left and right driven wheels is determined; calculating the current wheel slippage in the form of the rotation speed difference between one of the left and right driven wheels and the other of the left and right driven wheels; current angle of steering device is determined. Also, maximum and minimum allowable wheel slippage is calculated depending on the current angle of the steering device. It is detected that the current slippage of the wheel is outside the range between the maximum and minimum allowable slippage of the wheel. In response to said detection, the LSD is loaded to reduce the difference in rotation speed between one of the left and right driven wheels and the other of the left and right driven wheels.
EFFECT: undesirable differential lock is prevented.
