FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods for producing cast iron and steel in a plant for cast iron or steel production with a low level of CO2 emissions. A number (1) of furnaces for cast iron production are loaded with iron ore and coke, oxidizing gas is introduced into the number (1) of furnaces for cast iron production, waste gas (3) is decarbonized downstream relatively to the number (1) of furnaces for cast iron production, thus obtaining CO2-enriched waste gas stream (8) and decarbonized waste gas stream (9) containing no more than 10 vol.% of CO2 and preferably no more than 3 vol.% of CO2, and at least 50% of decarbonized waste gas stream (9) is injected back into the number (1) of furnaces for cast iron production as a recirculated reduction gas stream. In this case, methods also include stages of hydrogen and oxygen formation by decomposing water, introduction of at least part of hydrogen formed at the stage (e) into the number (1) of furnaces for cast iron production, and introduction of at least part of formed oxygen as oxidizing gas into the number (1) of furnaces for cast iron production and/or converter.
EFFECT: production of cast iron or steel.
