FIELD: information protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the protection of documents from the illegal reproduction. A device for obtaining on substrate an optical-effect layer (OEL) containing a composition curable under the effect of radiation, containing non-spherical flattened magnetic or magnetized pigment particles, includes a rotating magnetic assembly, the axis of rotation of which is perpendicular to the substrate surface. The rotating magnetic assembly contains the first and the second devices generating a magnetic field. The first device contains at least one pair of rod dipole magnets embedded in a carrying matrix, directions of magnetic fields of which are opposite, and magnetic axes of “North-South” direction are parallel to the axis of rotation of the magnetic assembly. The second device contains a dipole magnet, the magnetic axis of “North-South” direction of which is perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The projection of a line, in which rod dipole magnets of the first device are located, and the projection of the magnetic axis of the second device form, along the axis of rotation, to a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation, an angle (Ω), which is in the range from 5° to 175° or in the range from -5° to -175°. A method for obtaining an optical-effect layer is also proposed.
EFFECT: claimed group of inventions provides for improvement of the reliability of protection of document authenticity.
