FIELD: magnetic assemblies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetic assemblies and methods for producing optical effect layers (OELs) containing magnetically oriented non-spherical magnetic or magnetisable pigment particles on a substrate, in particular to magnetic assemblies, the use of a magnetic assembly, a printing device and a method for obtaining these OELs. The magnetic assembly (x00) is configured to receive the substrate (x20) in an orientation substantially parallel to the first plane (P) and above the first plane (P), and further comprises: a) a first device (x30) generating a magnetic field, comprising three or more first dipole magnets x31ai (x31a1, x31a2, …). Moreover, the center Cx31-ai (Cx31-a1, Cx31-a2,…) of each of the said first dipole magnets is located on the loop (x32) in the first plane (P), while the magnetic axes of the said first dipole magnets x31ai (x31a1, x31a2, ...) are oriented so that they are essentially parallel to the first plane (P), while said first dipole magnets x31ai (x31a1, x31a2, ...) are at least partially embedded in the carrier matrix (x33) ; and b) a second device (x40) generating a magnetic field, comprising a second dipole magnet x41, the magnetic axis of which is oriented in such a way that it is essentially perpendicular to the first plane (P), and the specified magnet is located so that the projection of its center on the first plane (P) is located at the projection point Cx41 within the loop (x32). In this case, the second device (x40), which generates a magnetic field, is located above the first device (x30), which generates a magnetic field, the angles αi are formed between each of the vectors (, , …) and vector (, , …) of the magnetic axis of the corresponding first dipole magnet x31ai (x31a1, x31a2, …), while all angles αi, when measured in a counterclockwise direction, range from about 20° up to about 160° or in the range of about 200° up to about 340°. In addition, each of the first dipole magnets x31ai (x31a1, x31a2, ...) is located at the first distance (Yi), and the specified first distance (Yi) is on the first plane (P) between the projection point Cx41 and the center Cx31-ai (Cx31-a1, Cx31-a2,…) of the first dipole magnet x31ai (x31a1, x31a2, …).
EFFECT: obtaining layers with an optical effect (OEL) based on magnetically oriented magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles in paints or coating compositions, while these magnetic assemblies and methods are reliable, easy to implement and capable of operating at high operating speed, allowing the creation of OELs that have a dynamic effect and are difficult to mass-produce with equipment available to counterfeiters.
