SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely ophthalmology. A posterior capsulorhexis is formed, a viscoelastic is injected into the anterior chamber against the background of a continuous supply of irrigation fluid through a port in the vitreal cavity. Silicone oil (SO) is removed using a cannula for removing SO with a 20 G needle installed in the posterior capsulorhexis. Then the fundus is examined using a vitreotome inserted through the posterior capsulorhexis and an illuminator installed using a port in the vitreal cavity.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce the traumatic nature of the intervention and increase its effectiveness by reducing the risks of intra- and postoperative complications.
