SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to a method for picking up a storage unit using a loading and unloading robot, in which the loading and unloading robot contains: a frame and a device for loading and unloading materials, which is installed on the frame, and contains a retractable arm and a manipulator mounted on the retractable arm ; and a method for picking up a storage unit includes: driving a manipulator with a retractable rod to extend it to a predetermined storage rack location along a predetermined horizontal reference line; loading, by means of a manipulator that remains on the reference line, a stock keeping unit located at a predetermined location; driving, by means of a retractable rod, a manipulator loaded with a stock keeping unit to move it to the frame along a reference line; and unloading, using a manipulator that remains on the reference line, the inventory control unit on the frame.
EFFECT: invention provides increased reliability during operation.
