FIELD: engine technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. An engine exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system and a method for diagnosing the engine EGR system are proposed. The EGR system of the engine includes an EGR pipeline on which an EGR cooler (11) and an EGR valve (12) are installed, while the inlet end of the said EGR valve (12) is connected to the outlet end of the said EGR cooler (11), as well as a pressure difference sensor (13), the inlet end of which can be selectively connected to the first or second point on the mentioned EGR pipeline. The first point is located at the inlet end of the said EGR cooler (11), and the second point is located between the outlet end of the said EGR cooler (11) and the inlet end of the said EGR valve (12). The outlet end of the said pressure difference sensor (13) is connected to the said EGR pipeline, while the connection point is located at the outlet end of the said EGR valve (12). The controller has a data transfer connection with the mentioned pressure difference sensor (13).
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to control the formation of plugs in the EGR cooler and the EGR valve, which contributes to a more accurate adjustment of the EGR coefficient and eliminates errors that create a risk of engine detonation and increased fuel consumption.
