FIELD: material processing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to material processing by cutting; it can be used in operation with milling tools with indexed triangular inserts. A positioning device is made with the possibility of retention of a decreased indexed cutting insert without holes, using magnetic force, electrostatic force and/or adhesion force, and it has outward-facing surface for insert retention, having an elongated shape that corresponds to a shape of a side of the decreased cutting insert. A milling set contains the specified positioning device and at least one decreased cutting insert. The milling set may also contain, if necessary, a milling tool with one or more sockets for an insert, made with the possibility of accommodation of such cutting inserts, as well as one or more clamping screws made with the possibility of fixation by clamping from the outer side of such inserts in the specified socket without passage through inserts. A method for the replacement of a cutting insert using a device is disclosed.
EFFECT: reliable retention of a cutting insert is provided.
