FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the field of maintenance of a railway track, in particular, to tamps of tamping machines, tamping machines equipped with such tampers, as well as to methods for operating such machines. The tamp contains an axle with a section for fastening the tamp in the machine and a plate for tamping the track. A notch is made in the axis of the tamper. The recess contains the sensitive element of the sensor. The connecting element for signal transmission is made in the body of the tuck. When installing the tamper in the tamping machine, the computer of the machine is connected to the tamper sensor. During tamping, the sensor readings from the tamping are recorded by the machine's computing device.
EFFECT: invention increases the efficiency of ballast tamping.
