FIELD: controlling.
SUBSTANCE: in a vehicle based on an architecture executing equivalent working functions with each group of controllers, the multiple onboard controllers (1-7, 21-26) are divided into a first group (A) of controllers and a second group (B) of controllers so as to build the network topology. It is determined whether there was a failure in any of the multiple controllers (1-7, 21-26). After determining that a failure has occurred in any of the multiple controllers (1-7, 21-26), the information on the failure is sent to a normal group of controllers, different from the faulty group of controllers whereto the failed controller belongs, via a network communication line. When the normal group of controllers receives the information on the failure via a network communication line, the controllers composing the normal group of controllers run a failure mode in order to duplicate the working function of the faulty group of controllers until the driver takes control of the vehicle. Thus the working function is implemented, equivalent to the working function lost due to the failure, without calling the excessively configured control system.
EFFECT: ensured control of a vehicle with driving assistance.
