FIELD: motion control system.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of controlling automatic parking for a vehicle equipped with a parking control system, in which parking interlock is automatically engaged, when automatic parking is completed in target stop position using automatic parking control. It is determined whether there will be a system malfunction, in which the parking control system by wire does not work normally during automatic parking control. It is prohibited to start automatic parking control when determining that the system malfunction occurs before automatic parking control. Invention covers also the automatic parking control device.
EFFECT: determination of system malfunction before automatic parking is started so that automatic parking is not interrupted due to failure.
