FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: driving assistance device comprises a steering wheel angle sensor (2), a controller (10) that detects the transition from automatic control to manual control of a person in the vehicle in relation to the driving assistance control that is performed in the vehicle based on the steering angle wheel (2) detected by the sensor. The controller (10) receives the first current of the electric motor to compensate for the self-adjusting torque generated in the tires during the execution of the driving assistance control. The first motor current is used to thereby set a first threshold value that is greater than the first motor current. It is determined that the transition from automatic control to manual control has occurred when the second motor current for controlling the tire angle in accordance with the angle of rotation of the steering wheel (2) exceeds the first threshold value. A driving aid device is also provided.
EFFECT: prevention of erroneous determination of the transition from automatic control to manual control is achieved.
