FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to oncology and radiology, and can be used to increase the effectiveness of ionizing radiation on melanoma. The method includes the action of 1-β-D-arabinofuranosylcytosine (AraC) on cells and subsequent irradiation with a beam of protons or γ-quanta. AraC is administered in vivo intravenously at the rate of 125 mg/kg 1 hour before local irradiation of melanoma at a dose of 10 Gy.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of ionizing radiation on melanoma by increasing the number of double-strand breaks (DR) of DNA.
