FIELD: crystal synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for the production of synthetic polycrystalline diamonds of detonation synthesis. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the detonation synthesis of polycrystalline diamonds is carried out by an explosion of a charge in the center of a sealed explosive chamber in an ice shell or in a water shell, and after the explosion, the resulting suspension of diamonds in water is extracted from the chamber into a sump, after settling the sediment is squeezed out on a centrifuge and cleaned of metal oxides and non-diamond carbon or dried. The charge is made of a mixture of graphite with a high-energy substance with a graphite content of 5 to 30%. At the same time, hexogen, and/or octogen, and/or tetranitropentaerythritol (TEN), and/or tetryl are used as a high-energy substance.
EFFECT: increase in the average size of the units of polycrystalline modified detonation diamond (PMDD) to 10-12 microns.
