SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of exothermal reactions, more specifically, reactions of hydrotreatment, hydrodesulfurization, hydrodenitration, hydrocracking, hydrogenation, hydrodeoxygenation, hydroisomerization, hydrodeparaffinization or hydrodearomatization, carried out in a reactor with a fixed layer. More specifically, the invention relates to a device for mixing and distribution of fluids in a reactor with descending direct flow and to its use for exothermal functions. The device for mixing and distribution of fluids for a catalytic reactor with a descending flow contains: a collection zone containing a collection means; an essentially vertical collector pipe and at least one injection means coming to the specified collector pipe; a mixing zone containing a fluid mixing chamber, and the specified mixing zone has the first end part communicating with the specified collector pipe, and the second end part communicating with the specified fluid exchange chamber located below the specified mixing chamber, wherein the length of the specified exchange chamber is strictly more than the length of the specified mixing chamber; a distribution zone located below the mixing zone, containing a distribution plate carrying a set of pipes and a set of horizontal plates located above pipes or on pipes.
