FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely dermatovenereology and cosmetology. Before prescribing treatment, anamnestic data are determined: duration of the disease, in years, hair density per 1 cm2, average hair diameter and biochemical parameters: ATP content and sulfotransferase (ST) activity in hair follicles, while the effectiveness of minoxidil therapy is predicted by the values of discriminant functions: DF1 and DF2. If the value of DF1 is greater than DF2, the patient is predicted to have no effect of minoxidil therapy. When the value of DF2 is greater than DF1, the effectiveness of therapy and the feasibility of therapy with minoxidil are predicted.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) therapy in patients with various stages of AGA, improve the quality of life of patients while reducing potential risks and economic costs of treatment, if there is no need for it, to put into practice effective protocols for a personalized approach to AGA therapy.
