FIELD: seismic studies.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of seismic exploration and can be used in security and reconnaissance-alarm complexes and systems for processing seismic signals generated by objects of ground equipment (OGE) in the surface layer of soil. A method for classifying moving objects of ground equipment by a seismic signal is proposed, including registration of a seismic signal excited by a moving object of ground equipment, filtering it in a selected frequency band, amplification and sampling. The method also includes the selection of the operating frequency range ΔF, characteristic of seismic vibrations of the soil, excited by the OGE of the “wheel” or “caterpillar”, as well as the division of the total frequency range ΔF into two bands Δf1 and Δf2 so that in each of these bands, most of the energy of seismic waves from “their” OGE class concentrates. The value of the signal energy ratio in these frequency bands, reduced to the value of the signal-to-noise ratio in the first frequency band, relative to some statistically reasonable level is a classification feature of the detected OGE.

EFFECT: adaptation of the OGE classification process to changes in the level of external noise, interference or weather and climatic conditions, which increases the robustness of the method, the probability of correct classification of OGE and reduces the likelihood of confusing OGE classes.
