FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to navigation in ice conditions, in particular, to underwater vessels navigating in conditions of continuous ice cover and destroying it by the resonance method. When it is implemented during the movement of the vessel, the width of the associated flow is periodically reduced with the frequency of resonant bending-gravity waves for a time equal to half their period.
EFFECT: use of the invention leads to the excitation of additional resonant bending-gravity waves in the ice, which increases the ice-breaking ability of the vessel.
