FIELD: navigation in ice conditions.
SUBSTANCE: when implemented during the movement of the vessel, the width of the associated flow is first reduced, and then increased periodically with the frequency of resonant bending-gravity waves for a time equal to half their period.
EFFECT: excitation of additional resonant bending-gravity waves in the ice, which increases the ice-breaking ability of the ship.
