SUBSTANCE: area of application: in the field of electric railway transport. The control system comprises voltage and current sensors connected to the supply lines of the contact wires of the inter-substation area, installed at traction substations, voltage and current sensors of the lines contact wire-supplying lines extending from sectionalising stations, current and voltage sensors at points of parallel connection, voltage sensors with a data transmission system on the inter-station contact system. Signals proportional to the measured currents and voltages are transmitted via a radio channel with the possibility of retransmission through other sensors. Data collection and analysis apparatus located at traction substations are used to determine the distribution of load over the traction network and the dynamics of voltage and current levels during movement of an electric rolling stock along the section, calculate the losses of electricity in real time, and make decisions on the further operation of the traction power supply system, on increasing or reducing the voltage at the substation, and connecting or disconnecting the reserve.

EFFECT: provided prompt control of the levels of voltage and current in the contact system and on collectors of electric locomotives.
