FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention constitutes a method including subjecting quail eggs to ultraviolet radiation in the range using a BL350 lamp. Eggs are selected and sorted according to the luminescence, based on a point system wherein 1 point corresponds to weak cold luminescence over the entire surface of the egg; 2 points correspond to cold luminescence over more than 50 percent of the surface of the egg; 3 points correspond to a pink shade over 50 percent of the surface of the egg and more; 4 points correspond to bright pink luminescence over 90 percent or more of the surface of the egg, characterised by classifying female quails whose eggs have a degree of luminescence of 3.5 to 4.0 points and are laid at the age of 65 to 80 days as highly productive.

EFFECT: method allows for early prediction of the egg-laying capacity of quails.
