SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for purifying alcohol production waste from carbonyl compounds by treating with an alkaline agent, releasing the purified product by distillation, wherein watered alcohol production waste with a water content of at least 6% vol. and an alkaline agent at a mass ratio from 0.2 to 5% are used, and the reactor is operated in the condensate return mode before distillation. The purpose of the invention consists in developing an effective method for purifying alcohol production waste from carbonyl compounds, allowing for production of purified alcohol with a yield of at least 87% and a residual content of acetaldehyde no more than 20% of the initial content.

EFFECT: claimed method provides a possibility of increasing the yield of the target product, excluding the use of technically complex equipment for precise pH control, and either ensuring a similar depth of purification with a fewer amount of used reagents and process stages, or performing deep purification to a residual content of acetaldehyde no more than 10% of the initial content with the same amount of reagents and process stages.
