SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for movement assistance and an apparatus for movement assistance. Method for movement assistance initiates the sensor to detect the boundary of the lane near the vehicle, calculates the own positions of the vehicle, converts the coordinate system of the detected lane boundary into the coordinate system equivalent to the cartographic data stored in the memory apparatus, in accordance with the own positions. Configuration information of the lane boundary, included in the cartographic data, is then integrated with the lane boundary, the coordinate system whereof was converted, in order to generate integrated data. The integrated range is herein determined when the configuration information is integrated with the lane boundary, the coordinate system whereof was converted, so that the lane boundary includes at least either multiple parts of different curvatures, or multiple differently directed straight parts, and the configuration information correlates with the lane boundary, the coordinate system whereof was converted, in order to generate integrated data, including at least the determined integrated range.

EFFECT: provided movement assistance by comparing the configuration information on the road in the cartographic data with the configuration information on the road detected by a sensor.
