FIELD: coatings.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a powder for forming a coating on the inner surface of casting moulds and to a coating made thereof. Proposed powder contains 10 to 99.5 wt.% ferrosilicon alloy, 0.5 to 50 wt.% iron sulphide, and optionally 1 to 30 wt.% CaSi and/or 1 to 10 wt.% CaF2.
EFFECT: coating produced from the powder reduces the amount of surface defects such as pinholes in items made of high-strength cast iron with spherical graphite.
