SUBSTANCE: The invention relates to medicine, namely to biochemistry, pharmacology, and can be used for the quantitative determination of 2-phenoxyethanol in biological media. The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method is used, which provides for the extraction of the analyte with acetonitrile. Chromatography is carried out at a temperature gradient of the column and the mass spectrum is recorded, followed by the detection of the target compound. For a qualitative analysis for the presence of 2-phenoxyethanol, ions with m/z = 138, 107, 95, 94, 79, 77 are selected. For a quantitative analysis of the content of 2-phenoxyethanol, an ion with m/z = 94 is selected. samples are carried out according to the formula:

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of highly efficient quantitative determination of 2-phenoxyethanol in various biological media, including blood and biological tissues of mammals, with high sensitivity, accuracy and specificity of determination, and which could be used in routine analyzes due to the proposed qualitative and quantitative analysis for the presence of 2- phenoxyethanol in the studied samples.
