SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of sports, namely to methods and devices for training and developing running abilities. The device for developing the athlete’s running abilities contains a track tape, motion sensors, a control unit and a traction mechanism made with the ability to set the track tape in motion, according to the invention, the track tape is mounted at the surface level of the running distance and is reversible with the ability to move both in one direction and in the other according to a given operating mode the motor is in the control unit, the motion sensors are mounted on the athlete’s path in front of the track tape and behind it and connected to a pulse relay, the contacts of which are connected to the control unit, an athlete’s speed sensor is also connected to the control unit, made with the ability to calculate the athlete’s speed before entering the track tape and after leaving it, and an interface module made with the ability to preset the operating modes of the track tape and output information about the athlete's running performance.

EFFECT: increase the effectiveness of training athletes’ running abilities, increasing their strength, speed and endurance, which is achieved due to the fact that a method for developing an athlete’s running abilities, in which using a speed sensor, the athlete’s speed is measured before entering the track tape and after leaving it and the measured values are transmitted to the control module, with the help of the interface module, the speed of the track tape movement in the direction coinciding with the direction of movement of the athlete is set equal to one tenth of the speed of movement of the athlete, and when the track tape moves towards the athlete, the speed of the track tape is set at least one tenth of the speed of the athlete.
